I hope that everyone, at least once in their life, dreams of being able to change the world to be a better place to be for everyone on the planet. I have learned from my experience in traveling the globe that all Human Beings have three (3) things in common with each other…
All Human Beings want to be happy …
All Human Beings want to be loved …
All Human Beings want as parents for their children to have more opportunity for success, happiness and love than they themselves had in their lives …
Regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, culture or religion all Human Beings share these same three wants and needs around the world without exception. Helping every Human Being in the world achieve these goals would indeed make the world a better place to be.
Recently within my own life I stumbled across my first opportunity to volunteer and it was as a English and computer teacher while on vacation visiting the temples of Angkor Wat near Siem Reap Cambodia. It was a life changing experience that reset all of my priorities to what was important in life and so profound that it reminded me of when I was a kid and dreamed about changing the world.
The act of Volunteering has a profound effect on everyone taking the time to give of themself to help another Human Being. Documenting and sharing our experience in volunteering via Social Media can extend our personal experience exponentially to a larger group of people and potentially have even more of a profound impact with our efforts in volunteering in inspiring others to volunteer, help others and hopefully change the world.
My father once told me, “To have a dream come true you must first have a dream.”
I have a dream that everyone, once in their life, takes the time to volunteer to help someone else and to share that experience with someone else, to inspire them to also volunteer and share their story.
Whether your experience in volunteering is for an extended period of time or even a single day sharing your story can have a profound impact in helping to change the world, one person at a time.
